Vancouver Island Lotto 6/49 ticket strikes gold

The lucky person who picked up a Lotto 6/49 ticket in Campbell River for the Aug. 28 draw is definitely wearing a big grin right now.

According to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation official website, playnow.com, a ticket worth $101, 904.60 for matching five of the six numbers, plus the bonus number, was purchased in Campbell River.

The numbers for the Aug. 28 Classic Draw prize are 04, 20, 29, 40, 41, 48. The bonus number is 47.   

The Campbell River ticket was one of three tickets to split the 5/6 + bonus prize pool, along with two tickets purchased in Ontario. 

The jackpot of $5,000,000 for matching all six numbers, was won by a single ticket purchased in western Canada.
