The Vancouver Island Symphony wants to show its audience opera is not boring.

Natalie Choquette will be a guest for the symphony鈥檚 one-night show Whoever Said Opera Was Boring? on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Port Theatre.  

鈥淜nown for her unique blend of humour, sensitivity, and exceptional artistry, Natalie promises an unforgettable evening of musical comedy that will leave audiences in awe,鈥� noted a news release from the symphony. 鈥淚mbued with creative madness and a flair for entertainment, Natalie Choquette, a self-proclaimed diva-actress who doesn鈥檛 think of herself as 鈥� a diva, is a performer like no other.鈥�  

She will perform timeless works from Webber, Rogers and Hammerstein, Bernstein, Bizet, Offenbach, Piaf, Rossini and Puccini. The show will be conducted by Janna Sailor and the performance will be filled with laughter, beauty and musical brilliance.
