Musicabilé will be in concert Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at St. George’s Church at Sixth and Fitzgerald in Courtenay.
Amy Lelliott, Carrie Lemke, Rebekah Janzen and pianist Veronica Klock are back for another January recital here in the Comox Valley. Judging from their acclaimed performance last year, this one should be a real treat.
Their posters around town say, “There’s A Song In My Art: Reflections On The Field Of Life,” and the evening of Jan. 29 promises to be a wonderful experience of classical and folk-classical songs. They will perform solo, duet and trio pieces — including the premiere of an original composition (a trio) written right here in Courtenay.
By who? It’s a surprise.
What makes Musicabilé special is that although its three soloists have unique and beautiful voices, these voices also blend into a rich and joyful celebration of song. And their interaction with each other (including their talented pianist) shows very clearly that they are not just fellow musicians but also dear friends.
The resulting sound is moving, delicate, ebullient, deep, and exquisite.
They remind one of the sea, the sky and the mountains — all woven together into one, glorious picture.
And, speaking of pictures, the backdrop for their singing this time will feature the photographic art of Graeme Ellis, a local photographer (graemeellis.com).
Get your tickets for this Jan. 29 concert at St. George’s United Church (9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday to Friday), or at Laughing Oyster Book Shop (286 Fifth St., Courtenay): $15/adult, $10/students and seniors.
