The Many Waters Band offers a reservoir of original folk-rock songs of dreams, romance, loss, redemption, reflection and celebration, drawing from a variety of musical streams but with one passion — to play music that touches the spirit.
The band’s name derives from Scripture, where “Many Waters” refers to a voice that transcends peoples, nations and tongues — a voice that speaks the language of the heart.
The group’s song Kandahar Fields sparked media attention and has been heard in homes and schools across the country, as well as among Canadian troops serving overseas. The band can usually be found playing in local coffeehouses or at weddings and community charity events.
The members are singer-songwriter Eric Macdonald, Christoph Kind on percussion, Lorne Antonsen on electric guitar, and Tracy Canil on flute, bass and keys. Canil is also well-known about town for her diverse talents playing in musical theatre orchestras, her Baroque ensemble Divertimento, and providing music therapy at St. Joseph’s Hospital and other places of healing.
Many Waters recently completed its first CD, Dream Rider, which can be listened to and downloaded at www.manywatersband.com.
