Join skilled teller of tales, Hazel Lennox, as she weaves her magic through stories especially for spring and Easter.
The Bayside Café, 2760 Cliffe Ave., opposite Driftwood Mall, is the venue and the show runs from 2 — 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14. Sit back with a drink and a snack, and be transported to the world of imagination.
Lennox has been immersed in the delights of myth and story for many years and she has been honing her craft in the Comox Valley, Britain, India and the U.S. Growing up in a Scots family who loved telling and listening to stories, anecdotes and jokes fostered a love of that ancient tradition that has not dissipated.
Lennox believes that stories contain gems of wisdom that are still relevant today.
“Times may have changed, but humans are still basically the same,” she says with a grin. “Apart from taking us away from our own worries and concerns, stories create great empathy for others, and still bring delight and joy into our lives.”
Said one recent listener of Hazel’s stories: “I was totally captivated throughout the entire time Hazel was taking us into other worlds. I also had a good few laughs!”
These stories are for adults and children over 12 years old and admission is by a suggested donation of $10.
