The Bridge Lounge in Courtenay will host The Green and Through the Roots from Oahu, Hawaii and local talent the Naked DJs on March 18.
The Green blends roots reggae with traditional Hawaiian vibes. Their self-titled debut album was named iTunes’ Best Reggae Album of 2010. The Green has sold more than 16,000 copies, and includes the hit song Love I.
“There’s plenty of invention, not imitation, which should propel The Green to the stratosphere reserved for few stars,” says the Honolulu Advertiser.
Their debut album landed on Billboard’s 2010 year-end top-10 reggae chart.
The Lounge will be tropically themed for the occasion and guests are invited to dress in Hawaiian fashion, including shorts, floral shirts, grass skirts and tank tops.
Prizes will be awarded to the most enthusiastic participants and the first 50 people through the door will receive a prize.
Doors open at 9 p.m., show starts at 9:30.
Pre-sale tickets are $12 and can be bought at 133 skate shop or Roots the Salon on Fifth Street.
The Bridge Lounge is at 90 Fifth St. at the downtown side of the Fifth Street Bridge.
