After decades in the spotlight Charlotte Palmer suddenly became invisible.
What had she done to bring this about? She had the nerve to turn 50. Over 60,000 women turn 50 every day and Palmer can’t be the only one who feels invisible. Although she vowed to never write a one woman show, she has done that, combining all her skills as an actor, comedian, writer, street performer, improviser and musician.
Palmer and JUNO Award winning Comox Valley singer/songwriter, Helen Austin, go way back to university in London, UK and where they had a comedy partnership, playing Covent Garden’s famous street theatre pitches, for many years. After Austin saw The Invisible Woman (Is Not Invisible) she knew she had to bring this funny, entertaining, heartwarming and informative show to Vancouver Island for a tour and they had so much fun on the first run with many sold out shows, that they are doing it again. You don’t want to miss it as this will be the last run of this particular show in B.C.
Doug Cox - Artistic Director - The Old Church Theatre says that the show was "a great experience for all. We sure received lots of appreciation from our audience as well. We will do it again for sure, you should too!”
The Old Church Theatre on Harmston in Courtenay will be presenting this show on Friday April 4 at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets are $30 and available from .
“This show was incredibly creative and funny," said Kimberley Johnston from Tuff City Radio. "I learned so much and was so happily surprised by the authentic and heartwarming performance by Charlotte. One instantly feels connected to her and her experience and she does an excellent job involving the audience in her skit. Her improvisational comedy was often my favourite part!”
