Grant Lawrence tells a story about the late Russell Letawsky, aka Russell the Hermit, during his Grant Lawrence and Friends show at Song Sparrow Hall this past summer. The CBC personality and best-selling author has 2 shows upcoming in the Comox Valley.

Popular CBC personality and best-selling author Grant Lawrence brings his very successful “Stories and Songs” show to the Comox Valley in October for two shows.

He plays Friday, Oct. 20, at the Fanny Bay Community Hall, and will be at the Denman Island Community Hall on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Accompanying Lawrence to perform music between his hilarious and harrowing stories about life on the Coast will be Jay Malinowski (Bedouin Soundclash), Stephanie Cadman (internationally renowned fiddle player and step-dancer), and Scottish-Canadian singer Sarah Jane Scouten. Joining the show in Fanny Bay will be Comox Valley singer Nina LeBlanc.

Lawrence’s hit live show was inspired by the late great Stuart McLean and his Vinyl Cafe show… but with a decidedly West Coast twist. Lawrence tells stories from his best-selling books about nearby Desolation Sound and the live original music provides a perfect complement.

Tickets for both shows are available in advance via eventbrite.ca
