Butterfly mural painted by community in downtown Courtenay

Comox Valley Residents paint mural in downtown Courtenay

Progress is being made on the mural located in downtown Courtenay.

The community mural painting project was the idea of Tia Caouette, an artist who applied for  Comox Valley Community Foundation grant to bring the community together through art. The initial painting day was held on Juy 15, and more are planned depending on weather for the next few weeks.

"I think that when people can work together on a project like this, they feel connected," Caouette said.

For more information on future dates, visit the mural at the courtyard on the corner of 5th Street and Cliffe Avenue.
