The award winning folk/pop duo made up of Comox Valley's own Helen Austin and Paul Otten of Cincinnati, Ohio, are starting off a set of shows along the B.C. music festival scene with a concert in Cumberland on July 18.

The band found success after their first collaboration, which awarded Austin a Juno Award in 2014. They have continued to produce folk/pop songs, that gain accolades. They recently released the song "Love Is."

In Big Little Lions, Austin sings, plays guitar and does foot percussion while Otten plays drums, bass, keyboards as well as sings lead vocals. While the group has a full library of songs to chose from, they often bring in some covers for fun.

After the show in Cumblerland, you can catch Big Little Lions in Victoria on July 19 or at the Island Folk Festival in Duncan, July 20 and 21.

Big Little Lion play The Amara Manville House at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online at
