Vancouver Island Regional Library is hosting a drawing contest that offers teen artists a chance to be featured in a colouring book.
The contest kicked off in January and submissions can still be made until Feb. 21. This is the second drawing contest the library has hosted since 2022 and teens between the ages of 12 and 18 are invited to submit original line art showcasing libraries or literacy for a chance to win prizes and be features in a book.
The contest winner will be featured on the cover and there will be prizes from Nanaimo’s Iron Oxide Art Supplies for the first-, second- and third-place winners, along with any other artists featured in the book.
Artists are welcome to submit more than one entry and digital art will be accepted. All art must be vertical and fit an 8.5-by-11 page. Digital art or art that’s been scanned can be e-mailed to contests@virl.bc.ca or submitted to a local Vancouver Island Regional Library branch.
All entries must include the artist’s full name, age, location, contact and VIRL library number. More information can be found at http://virl.bc.ca.
