Comox Valley's top haunted house experience is back again this year, with a Haunted Christmas theme.
The LINC Youth Centre will be hosting the extra-spooky scenes, with a haunted winter wonderland.
"Will you survive the horrors of the haunted winter wonderland, or will you end up on Santa's naughty list — forever?"
The attraction is organized by youth aged 8 to 18 years who are in the LINC's Ghoul School program. Over 15 local youth have been hard at work — with staff support — to put the event on. They've been working since September, and chose the theme, made the sets and props, and are getting ready to play the characters in the haunted house.
Kelsey Smith, Community Youth Development Supervisor at the LINC, promises extra-spooky yuletide scenes.
“Our enthusiastic ghouls have been working hard to create scary snow-covered halls filled with ghostly carollers, sinister snowmen and Santa’s twisted elves. Many ghouls return year after year, but we also have some new faces this year throwing their ideas and creativity into the mix,” says Smith.
Exploring the haunted house takes about five minutes, but people are invited to enjoy the rest of the LINC while they wait. This includes ping pong, air hockey, and billiards. There will also be Halloween treats available at the concession.
"The youth appreciate your patience and hope their performance will be worth the wait!" a release from the City of Courtenay says.
Haunted House hours are 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 24; Tuesday, October 29; Wednesday, October 30; and Thursday, October 31. Hours are 6 – 9 p.m. on Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26. On Halloween night (Thursday, October 31), Half the Fright Night will be offered, which is geared towards younger children and those who are more easily frightened.
Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family.
