In a series of three 90-minute talks, Dr. Ken Newman, a retired professor of chemistry and climate activist Dr. Joan Gillies will talk about how the sun and atmosphere work in tandem to make our planet habitable 鈥� and how our actions are upsetting this balance. On top of global warming, we鈥檒l also find out how ground level air pollution is affecting all of us right now.

"The Atmosphere: Our Precious, Fragile Shield" will be presented on three Wednesdays at 1 p.m. starting Feb. 26 and running until March 12 at Comox United Church (250 Beach Drive, Comox).
