Board chair Paul Horgen, staff, volunteers and the board of directors invite the public to Project Watershed’s annual general meeting, and celebration of 23 years of stewardship service to the Comox Valley, Saturday, June 3.

The AGM will be held at the K’ómoks First Nation administration office at 3330 Comox Rd. in Courtenay.

The meeting runs from 1 to 3 p.m. and will feature a special report on several key educational activities.

These activities include an Elder College course on Nature’s Water Works and the new Rotary funded signage project.

“We plan to highlight our major community donors, which include technical director Bill Heath, who will also report on our kelp restoration project. In addition, updates on completed projects, and projects that will be initiated this season, will be featured with the most current public information to report on our efforts to obtain and restore the decommissioned saw mill site, Kus Kus Sum,” said program co-ordinator Lisa LaRose, in a press release.

After refreshments and the election of the 2017-18 board of directors, KFN archeologist Jesse Morin will give a presentation of ancient First Nations fishing on the main floor in front of the dugout canoe.

Opportunities to become a member of Project Watershed or to sign up as a volunteer will be available at the event.

Please RSVP to info@projectwatershed.ca or call 250 703-2871.
