The Comox Archives and Museum Society is producing a memory booklet about the Lorne Hotel.

CAMS is compiling photos and historical information.

The Lorne has been a warm port in a storm, a place to meet friends, a showcase to greet tourist from all over the world, a place to call home away from home and the best watering hole around, the museum says in a news release.

The Lorne has stood at the heart of Comox since the beginning of time. So, to capture the true soul of our loss, CAMS would like to include your stories past and present.

Tell the museum what the Lorne meant to you. Photos would also be appreciated. The will publish as many as they can and hopefully will have the final book available within three weeks. All submissions will be compiled and displayed at the Comox Museum.

"This is an important part of our history — now is the time for us all to come together and share our thoughts experiences and feelings. We must preserve them for the future so our descendants will be able to feel the spirit of the Lorne," CAMS says.

The Comox Museum has produced a set of historical souvenir cards, which are available now.

E-mail or drop off your information. Museum personnel can scan photos that you would like to share but cannot give.

E-mail comoxmuseum@shaw.ca or visit the Comox Museum

and Archives at 1729 Comox Ave. on the lower floor at the rear of the building off Nordin Street.
