Meeting features bee expert

The Comox Valley Naturalists Society’s Feb. 20 meeting will feature Victoria bee expert Gordon Hutchings speaking on native bee pollinators and their habitat requirements.

He has been studying native bees for 22 years, and has been a contract field biologist in several provinces. He will cover some of the threats to native bees, and their importance to both B.C. agriculture and the environment. Hutchings will speak Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay.
