The course will be held Feb. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m.

A Comox Valley winery will be hosting a driftwood embroidery workshop on Feb. 16.

Cottage Fever Interior Design will be partnering with 40 Knots Winery to offer the course. While embroidery is typically done on fabric, attendees will learn how to transfer the technique to a tougher medium: driftwood.

"Enjoy a glass of wine while crafting a unique home decor item to keep or gift" a release from the organizers says.

Attendees can choose a locally-foraged, bleached and dried piece of driftwood. They'll receive embroidery supplies, tools and one-on-one instruction. The course will cover pattern selection, drilling, embroidering, and adding hanging mechanisms for the newly-finished artwork. Wine and other beverages will be available for purchase, as well as food.

Tickets are available on eventbrite, or by visiting cottage-fever.ca. Tickets are $45 per person. The event will be from 2 until 4 p.m.
