This Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m., Cumberland Community School Society Environment Club members will be at Seeds Food Market as a part of the ongoing Laundry Project.
Students will share a recipe for making your own inexpensive, eco-laundry soap, along with tips for doing laundry in a more environmentally friendly way.
Customers will receive a sample of the soap to take home and try.
“This event is part of a new series of community-based projects from the Cumberland Museum and Archives that shine a spotlight on the beautifully mundane elements of domestic life — both in the past and in our contemporary everyday lives,” say Cumberland Museum staff.
This month-long project runs until March 3 and combines hands-on learning about the history of Cumberland with community projects in partnership with local businesses and other non-profit groups.
