It’s always nice to have visitors drop by, especially when you’re having an open house. On Thursday, June 8, L’Arche Comox Valley rolled out the welcome mat at the I Belong Centre at 1465 Grieve Ave. to share what the community hub offers.

“It was amazing to talk to so many people about not just L’Arche but the Valley, disability advocacy and new possibilities,” said Hollee Card, community leader and executive director for L’Arche Comox Valley.

A big topic was the not-for-profit’s new fundraising campaign for The Anchorage, a Courtenay housing project that will provide affordable housing to adults with developmental disabilities.

L’Arche is part of a worldwide movement of inclusion for people with disabilities as full members of their community. L’Arche has been in the Comox Valley since 2000.
