Courtenay Recreation in partnership with the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association offers a howling good time at the annual children’s Halloween Parade and Party on Tuesday, Oct. 31. The free event is for children 11 years and younger with a caregiver.
The fun starts with events on Duncan Avenue at 3 p.m. and continues with the parade downtown and the party at the Lewis Centre from 4:45–6 p.m.
Schedule of downtown Courtenay Halloween events:
3-5 p.m. on Duncan Avenue:
• Courtenay Recreation’s cookie decorating table
• Fishing for Treasure with Nootka Marine
• Comox Valley Art Gallery hosts an art table with apple cider
4-5 p.m. at Courtenay Library: Books for Treats
4–4:45 p.m. meet at Golden Carriage Restaurant parking lot, corner of 5th Street and Fitzgerald Avenue: Parade and trick or treat downtown
4:45–6 p.m. meet at the Lewis Centre:
Party at the Lewis Centre with a family portrait in our photo booth, some spooky Halloween Carnival Games with prizes, bouncers, and a refreshing root beer float or coffee from the Witches Brew Café.
5 p.m. meet at Games and Grounds (on 4th Street) for an all ages costume contest.
5–7 p.m. at The LINC Youth Centre (300 Old Island Highway):
The LINC Haunted House features half the fright night for younger visitors. Cost is $2 per person or $5 per family.
Drivers, please be patient and alert while hundreds of small costumed characters walk around downtown Courtenay.
