The famously spooky Halloween Train is ready to pull into the station at the BC Forest Discovery Centre for nine nights beginning Friday, Oct. 20.

This family event is always popular, drawing hundreds to the centre just outside of Duncan.

“Behind the scenes the volunteers and staff are already getting ready, building, and preparing to make this year the best Halloween Train event ever,” said a press release.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 to Sunday, Oct. 22, and Wednesday, Oct. 25 to Monday, Oct. 30, and trains run every half hour beginning at 4 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with the Centre closing at 9 p.m. If you’re on a later train, you may wish to arrive an hour or so earlier to take in all the events around the Centre.

Activities each evening include crafts in the schoolhouse, trick or treat stations for the little ones, and live entertainment by Andy McCormack and the popular Kathy White Zombie Dancers. There will be lots of hot chocolate, coffee and hot food available to purchase so you can sit back, watch the fun and enjoy the warmth of the popular fire pits. A number of live actors will be on site so be prepared for lots of fun.

“This is a family friendly event but it can be a little scary for very young children and we suggest that you bring them early before the sun sets,” the centre said.

“Don’t forget to dress up in your best costume!”

The Halloween Train and most displays are covered so it’s all aboard, rain or shine.

Tickets are non-refundable and only available online at . They are expected to sell quickly.

Tickets are $16 for adults, seniors, and youth (13-18 years), and $14 for children. Toddlers two years and under are admitted free.
