On Oct. 26, the Big Yellow Merville Hall invites everyone to come experience the Halloween Contra dance and Funtime Fiddlers. 

The Contra dance is family friendly and a caller directs all the participants around the dance floor. The steps are simple, organized and the callers will invite everyone on the dance floor. Single dancers are welcome as they can pair up with anyone during the Contra dancing. 

To get the dancers moving, the Funtime Fiddlers will be providing the music for the festivities. 

There is a short Contra dance workshop at 7:00 p.m. where the fiddlers will also perform some waltzes, foxtrots, sing tunes and polkas. There are prizes for Halloween costumes. 

The event takes place at the Big yellow Merville Dance Hall on Old Island Highway, between Courtenay and Campbell River. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with dancing starting at 7:30 p.m.. Cost is $10.00/adults, $5.00/youth (6 and under free) and you can come as a family for $22.00.
