The Courtenay and District Fish and Game Protective Association hosts its annual banquet fundraiser Feb. 19 at the Florence Filberg Centre.
This year, the meal consists of wild game appetizers and a roast beef dinner complete with all the trimmings, salads, veggies and dessert.
The doors open at 5 p.m. with the dinner at 6:30.
Tickets are now available for the public and members at $40 per person. The dinner always sells out quickly, so call Elsie at 250-338-4420 for tickets and information or the club caretakers at 250-338-9122.
The evening will provide many prizes donated by supportive and always-generous local merchants and businesses. The master of ceremonies will keep you entertained as the evening progresses until the music and dancing starts.
Fish and Game members will be canvassing local businesses and if you wish to donate in support of the fundraiser, contact Gail at 250-339-4707 or Elsie at 250-338-4420.
The banquet is one of the primary fundraisers for the Fish and Game Association. Monies raised assist with wildlife habitat and conservation projects such as maintaining spawning channels, fish hatchery work, biological studies and on occasion, elk transplantation.
Come on out for a fun evening. By enhancing our fish and wildlife stocks and promoting sound conservation practices and harvesting limits, we are pursuing renewable fish and wildlife resources for generations to come. — Courtenay and
