Documentary film sheds light on home and community care system

A documentary film about home and community care in B.C. will be shown this Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay.

The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives’ first documentary film, produced with the help of the Hospital Employees’ Union, is being shown this Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Florence Filberg Centre in the Rotary Hall.

Its title is The Remaining Light and it is being shown by the local SOS (Support Our Seniors) Comox Valley group.

The film takes us on a journey through the home and community care system in B.C. from palliative care to long-term/residentials care to home support and outreach programs.

The March 3 film will be followed by a discussion. The meeting is open to all, and although there is no charge, donations will be accepted.
