Dine Around hits the Valley

For the second year running, Dine Around has hit the Comox Valley — the perfect event for those in need of a break, but don’t have the vacation time or funds to get away.Dine Around Comox Valley, running until March 6, encourages foodies to check out the offerings of local restaurants. Similar to previous years, diners can enjoy prix-fixe three-course meals ($15, $25 or $35) at one of the many participating restaurants.New this year, a number of Comox Valley hotels and resorts have come onboard, offering discounted rates to Dine Arounders needing a place to lay their head after a night on the town.Accommodation partners include the Old House Village Hotel and Spa; Travelodge Courtenay; The Villas at Crown Isle; and Best Western PLUS, The Westerly Hotel and Convention Centre. And, just like the standardized restaurant pricing, there are three tiers of hotel rates: $79, $99 and $129.“Dine Around is great for our community and highlights how much there really is to do and see in the Valley,” said Kerry Pearce, general manager, Old House Village Hotel and Spa. “With the new addition of accommodation partners, now’s the time to round up some friends and make it a mini-holiday: check out that restaurant your neighbour can’t get enough of before resting at one of the Valley’s top hotels.”“We have a number of great, local restaurants signed up and ready to serve some of the best eats the Comox Valley has to offer,” said Jeff Lucas, owner of The Old House Restaurant.“But the best thing about the Dine Around Comox Valley event?” said Lucas. “In the morning, there are no dishes to wash and no beds to make.”To participate in this year’s Dine Around Comox Valley event, visit www.ComoxValleyDineAround.com.— Dine Around Comox Valley
