Grade 10 Students from Mark Isfeld Secondary School - “The Pink Ladies - Improvisation Team” are heading to Knoxville, Tennessee to compete in the Global Destination Imagination Competition 2017. This past April, performing with 100 other eager and talented teams of students from B.C., Alberta and the Yukon, these 6 determined and talented girls placed first in the Provincial-Destination Imagination Competition in Vancouver.

With teamwork, dedication, positive attitude and creative talent the “Pink Ladies” have qualified for the International Global Finals for 3 consecutive years; the first two years they were not financially able to attend, but this year, their goal is to raise enough money to travel to their dream “destination” at the end of May. There is a very short window of time to raise the amount necessary to get them there and the cost for each girl will be $2,300 (CAD) $13,800 for the team, this will cover flights, dormitory accommodations, and meals. Each girl is responsible for her other personal expenses.

The team will be representing Mark Isfeld Secondary School, The Comox Valley, B.C. and Canada in the Destination Imagination Competition Global Finals 2017, in Knoxville Tennessee. By attending, they fulfill a dream they have worked 3 years to achieve and will gain valuable life skills in international goodwill as Canadian youth “ambassadors”.
