Your favourite petting farm is returning to Comox this summer!
On Monday, June 12, the Town of Comox Hands on Farm located at Filberg Park will reopen for the season. Bring your friends and family to visit and learn about a variety of farm animals, including goats, sheep, bunnies, piglets and more.
The Hands on Farm is an accessible facility located at 61 Filberg Rd., Comox, and is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Aug. 20. Admission rates are $6 for one to three people, $10 for four to six people, and $40 for a summer family pass. Group rates are available for hosting events, including birthday parties, school groups and daycare.
Donations will be accepted, with all proceeds going towards the general upkeep of the farm and to offset the costs of caring for the farm’s animals.
“The Comox Community Centre offers summer camps at the petting farm for ages 3 and up and a farm club for children ages 9–12 years,” said Andrew Clements, recreation supervisor. “Our camps are perfect for children who are interested in learning about caring for our farm friends and assisting with the feeding, grooming and barn chores.”
This entertaining venue is also looking for volunteers to lend a helping hand this summer. Volunteers gain valuable hands-on experience in animal care, feeding, and yard and barn maintenance. Hands on Farm offers flexible summer volunteer hours and an unforgettable farm experience. Volunteering opportunities are offered between June and August to those 13 years and older.
