A panel discussion on the health risks of social isolation for seniors will be held on June 25 at Courtenay’s Florence Filberg Centre, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

A panel discussion on the health risks of social isolation for seniors will be held on June 25 at Courtenay’s Florence Filberg Centre, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Organized by Comox Valley Elders Take Action, the event featured experts from various fields who addressed the growing public health concern of isolation among seniors. 

The discussion highlighted the increased risks of dementia, stroke, and heart disease related to social isolation.

The event aimed to educate the community and promote actions to help mitigate these risks.

On-site donations from attendees are appreciated to help cover the venue's rental fees.
