Comox Valley Horticulture welcomes Arzeena Hamir

Hamir will be the guest speaker and share knowledge around seeds

On Monday, Feb. 24, Arzeena Hamir will be the guest speaker at the Comox Valley Hort. Society Zoom meeting. Hamir will explain the basics of starting seeds for both the novice and the experienced gardener.

Hamir is an agronomist with a Masters Degree in Agriculture. She and her husband own Amara Farms, a 26-acre certified organic farm in the Grantham area of the Comox Valley. Hamir is one of the founders of the Comox Valley Food Policy Council and the Mid Island Farm Institute.

Hamir will share tips around reusing containers and the pros and cons of seed starting mixes. She’ll also focus on how to give your veggies the best possible start for a good harvest.
