The Comox Valley Growers and Seed Savers is once again hosting Seedy Saturday, which will showcase 40 different vendors offering locally produced seeds and plants, gardening supplies, and gardening services. This is an opportunity to find the largest selection of locally adapted seeds and specialty plants that Vancouver Island has to offer. The very popular community seed exchange, where a diverse variety of seeds are still only a dollar a packet, will take up most of the lower level. As always, there will be a workshop where you can learn more about gardening.
This year’s feature presentation is “A Great Time to Make Your Gardening Sustainable”. Our guest speaker is Dr. Terry Willard. The presentation is meant for beginners up to advanced gardeners. Willard will look at how to feed ourselves during the season, how to store our bounty for the winter, and how to make medicines to help our family’s lifestyle with creative household helpers. Join Willard for a fun-filled time looking at our bright future.
Willard, Cl.H., Ph.D. is one of North America's leading Clinical Herbalists. He has been an active practitioner and teacher for over 50 years and is well known for formulations of products throughout the Health Food and natural pharmaceutical industries around the world. Founder of Wild Rose College of Natural Healing and author of 12 books, Willard is semi-retired living on an organic acreage on Vancouver Island.
