On Dec. 6, the 2nd Annual charity hockey tournament between the Comox Valley Glacier Kings and local Veterans and First Responders was held at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.
There was a near-capacity crowd in attendance, and despite deploying their secret weapon, the Comox Valley Timbits, late in the first period, the Veterans and First Responders lost to the ‘Kings 11-8.
While the final total won’t be in for a little bit, this fantastic event, the brainchild of Comox Valley RCMP Sgt. Rob Brennan, has already raised over $15,000 to fund vital life-saving programs for Wounded Warriors Canada.
Speaker on the ice (and team member) is Dr. Tim Black, National Clinical Director for Wounded Warriors Canada. Puck dropped by: Iris Churhill, Comox Valley RCMP Const. Paul Jones and CFB Comox Wing Commander Col. Chris Shapka.
