The staff at Pawsitive Dog Walking and Daycare love what they do, and it shows.

The Courtenay company offers on and off-leash dog-walking services, and staff can often be spotted along the city streets with their 鈥榗lients.鈥�

On Monday (Oct. 23), Sheri, Roslyn and Wendy led 20 dogs along Willemar Avenue, smiling all the way. The dogs all looked happy as well.

While the dogs look to be in sync with each other and their walkers, Sheri said it does not happen without training.

鈥淚t takes a lot of practice, and they all kind of know where they are supposed to be,鈥� she said. We have 鈥榝ront鈥� and we have 鈥榖ack.鈥� Our back dogs stay behind, and our front dogs are dogs that need work, like our puppies.

鈥淲e teach them to heel, we teach them to leave things, leave people (alone) and other dogs, that kind of stuff.鈥�

Sheri said the dogs are shuffled around every day, and the morning and afternoon walks are always different.

Monday鈥檚 walk featured 20 dogs, which is nowhere near the maximum.

鈥淪ome days we have 36,鈥� said Sheri. 鈥淲e would have four walkers for that many dogs.鈥�
