The Comox Valley Community Foundation awarded seven professional development grants for a total of $10,000 to local charities, to help address the need for greater support and training for staff and volunteers.
The Comox Valley Community Foundation Grants Committee used a two-phase adjudication process to select the recipients, fully exploring all aspects of the each application.
“We received 11 applications and looked carefully at each one for clear goals, good development plans and measurable benefits,” said CVCF grant committee chair, Joan Carson. “Seven organizations were selected and represent the diverse needs of our community. Professional development grants are one of the very exciting opportunities that the CVCF offers local non-profits to strengthen their commitment to excellence within their organizations.”
Professional development grant recipients are: Cumberland Museum &Archives, Comox Valley Marine Rescue Society, L’Arche Comox Valley, Nova Voce Choral Society, Special Olympics, United Riders of Cumberland, and Volunteer Comox Valley.
The Comox Valley Community Foundation professional development grant is designed to help organizations address the need to strengthen their skills and capabilities. The Comox Valley Community Foundation has been assisting registered charities to acquire or upgrade critical capital resources for the past 20 years.
