Be part of the fun as the Comox Rotary Club celebrates the 37th year of the Comox Rotary Ducky 500!

Imagine rubber duckies racing down the Puntledge River to the finish line at the 5th St bridge—it’s an event you won’t want to miss as part of Courtenay’s Canada Day celebration at Lewis Park.

Get your tickets at or in person at the d’Esterre Seniors Centre in Comox on Thursday nights at 6:30, the Evergreen Seniors Centre in Courtenay, and various locations in downtown Courtenay and Comox. Keep an eye on the newspaper for details.

Tickets are $20 each, three for $55, or five for $75.

The grand prizes include a $5,000 Tofino holiday package, a $2,175 staycation, and a $1,000 Canadian Tire gift card.

Sales from tickets go toward vital community causes such as homelessness, youth programs, environmental initiatives, and healthcare. Over the years, the Comox Rotary has kickstarted projects like the Dawn to Dawn Action on Homelessness Society, providing crucial funding and momentum. Initiatives like the WeCan Shelter project, which constructs shipping container homes, have thrived with Rotary’s support. Contributions have also been made to projects like the Comox Rotary Marina Waterpark and recent efforts to enhance accessibility at the Comox Valley Child Development Association by renovating the ramp entrance.

Over the years the Comox Rotary raised over $1,000,000 for community programs, scholarships, and charities.

Join them at Lewis Park on Canada Day, Friday, July 1st, for the fun! The race starts at 1 p.m. and the raffle winners are announced shortly after.
