On Feb. 22, the annual Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) walk returns to raise money for those who are hungry, hurting and unhoused. This year's goal is to raise $225,000 for those in need.

The walk will start at the Native Sons Hall at 360 Cliffe Avenue and will take you on either a 2km walk or a 5km loop that ends back at the Native Sons Hall.

Check in starts at 4:00 p.m. with opening remarks happening at 4:45 p.m.. Organizers encourage attendees to wear warm clothing, including hats, scarves and gloves. Bring along a water bottle and snacks if needed.

At 5:00 p.m., walkers will head out on designated walking routes, marked by big blue signs and route marshals, rest stop hosts and support vehicle drivers providing support along the route.

There is a light meal being served at 6:00 p.m. with the event ending at 7:00 p.m.

Fundraising walkers who raise $150+ (or $75+ for those under 18) will receive a CNOY toque as a thank you on event day, while supplies last.

is now open for walkers and teams. Visit for more information.
