Why is it so hard to quit? Methods like quitting cold turkey often fail due to intense withdrawal symptoms and the psychological pull of nicotine. Nicotine gums and patches may ease withdrawal, but they keep your body dependent on nicotine and can be costly over time. They also don’t address the behavioural patterns and triggers that often lead to relapse.
