The Comox Valley Women's Business Network (CVWBN) is excited about their newest community project: BOOST.
In the past, the Comox Valley Women’s Business Network has supported many local organizations such as the Comox Valley Women’s Centre and the Comox Valley Transition Society, by donating proceeds from raffles and 50/50 draws.
Other times, the group has gathered clothing and toiletries and donated them to women in need.
This year, the CVWBN has developed BOOST, which stands for Building Opportunities for Organizations using our Strengths and Talents, to provide an opportunity for members to support one organization for a year and mentor this organization to increase the profile and internal capacity of their business.
"Our membership has a wealth of diverse talent and skill, and we’d like to share it with a deserving organization," says Jenny Deters, president of the CVWBN.
The members of the CVWBN have chosen the Comox Valley Women's Transition Society for this year's BOOST project. “Members have been asked to think about how their business might be able to assist the organization by offering their unique business talents, time, experience or simply by volunteering for a specific need that the organization expresses,” says vice-president Emma Payton.
