Target opening new stores in Kelowna and Courtenay, B.C.

Target is adding 20 Canadian stores on July 16, and will roll out 124 stores to Canada by the end of 2013, it said.

The bullseye has its sight set on B.C. once again

Target Corporation is launching two new stores in British Columbia, which will open on July 16 in Courtenay's Driftwood Mall and Kelowna's Orchard Plaza.

Target is adding 20 new stores across Canada (11 of them in Ontario) on top of the 48 it already has. Alberta will also get two stores and Saskatchewan will get three.

"After opening stores in Ontario and Western Canada, we're excited to bring the unique Target brand shopping experience to additional locations in these markets and to welcome our first guests in Saskatchewan," the release quotes Tony Fisher, Target president, as saying.

Target said it plans to open 124 stores across Canada throughout 2013.

The company is based in Minneapolis, Minn. and operates 1,784 locations in the United States.
