The Comox Valley Small Business Association has added a spotlight speaker to the evening’s agenda for its meeting Thursday, Oct. 3.
Terri Perrin, terri PERRIN ink - professional writing services, will give a brief overview of the proposed Canadian anti-spam law that may go into effect in 2014. If approved, this new legislation will dramatically change how small businesses and non-profits conduct online marketing. Learn the basics about e-commerce and privacy issues relating to the law and how businesses can be prepared for change.
Perrin, a skilled e-commerce solutions provider and marketing professional, will cover this topic in more detail as the keynote speaker for the Jan. 2 CVSBA meeting.
The keynote speaker for this month’s meeting is Keith Curry from the Comox Valley Echo. He will discuss how to advertise effectively.
The association – formerly the Home-Based and Small Business Association – meets in the Evergreen Room at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay. Networking is from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The meeting runs from 6:30 – 9 p.m. Admission is free.
The association meets the first Thursday of each month from September to June. Membership is open to all small businesses. Annual dues are $95.
