Wake the Lake, initially started in Whistler in 2008 by Comox Valley resident Aron Delucry, opened on Comox Lake last week.
Wake the Lake is a water sport school offering wakesurfing, wakeboarding, wakeskating, waterskiing, tubing, banana boat rides and guided water sport boat charters for people of all levels.
All staff are fully certified NCCP coaches and trained with first aid and CPR.
With a commitment to supporting a fun and healthy lifestyle through watersports, Wake the Lake offers activities and programs for people of all ages and levels, including a kids' program, teen camps, women’s nights, corporate events and a learn-to-surf program.
Delucry, the founder and owner of Wake the Lake, grew up in the Valley and has spent many summers on the lake.
"The Comox Valley is an amazing place to grow up. I spent many summers on the lake and if you didn’t have a boat of your own or the equipment, there was little opportunity to water ski or wakeboard.
"I was lucky that we had friends and family who would take us out on the water which fuelled my passion for water sports. I am very excited to share my passion and bring this amazing activity to the Comox Valley.”
Wake the Lake will be open until mid-September, weather permitting. Boats leave from the boat ramp on the Cumberland side of the lake, located at the Cumberland lake park campground.
