Ford Country is again bringing Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited’s Drive One 4 UR School program to the Comox Valley.

It's part of an effort to raise up to $12,000 for Mark R. Isfeld Secondary School and G.P. Vanier Secondary School.

Each school will host its own fundraiser on consecutive Sundays in April, beginning April 10 with Isfeld.

For every person who test-drives a Ford vehicle at an event, Ford Country and Ford of Canada will donate $20 to the school’s dry grad, up to a total of $6,000 for each school. The school with the most test drives will also receive a scholarship worth $500 from Ford Country.

The events, which will be held April 10 and 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature the Ford Fiesta, Edge, Focus, Fusion and F-150, to name a few.

“High-school graduation is an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime experience and it’s important our community’s youth have the chance to experience it to the fullest,” says Neil van Ierland, general manager at Ford Country. “We’re excited to be helping these kids celebrate this momentous occasion and at the same time introduce parents and other drivers to our high-quality lineup and innovative safety technologies.”

Since the start of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School and Community programs in 2010, more than 25,000 test-drives at more than 160 events have generated over $460,000 in donations for high schools and organizations in Canada. This is the second series of Drive One 4 UR School events held by Ford Country.

The first Drive One for UR School event will benefit Mark Isfeld Secondary School and will take place on school grounds at 1551 Lerwick Rd. in Courtenay on April 10 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The G.P. Vanier Secondary School event will be held April 17 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Ford Country, which is located at 4901 North Island Hwy. in Courtenay.

Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. There is a limit of one test-drive per household.
