The Comox Valley Growers and Seed Savers present “Seedy Saturday 2016 - Celebrating Soil” March 5 at the Florence Filberg Centre.
The day will feature more than 30 Island vendors of seeds, plants, gardening supplies and services, a seed exchange as well as a soil preparation, and mason bee workshop.
The event also features food, snacks and refreshments as well as a children’s activity room and many community action groups. This year another attraction will be “School Garden Art” which will be displayed throughout the facility. The art was supplied by more than 10 local schools which will each receive $100 towards their school garden.Seedy Saturday continues to support local and Island enterprises and will include new new and beginning local businesses.
Joining us for the first time will be Bugs with Benefits, Living Soil Sustainable Landscape Design, Sweet Rock Farm, Annie’s Dahlias, Lighthouse Greenhouse Technologies and Colby Fruit Trees.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission is $5 per person, children are free.

All workshops are in the Rotary Room (downstairs). The soil preparation workshop is repeated three times to accommodate the most people possible.
