The newest Vancouver Island Costco store has chosen Courtenay’s Old House Restaurant as its caterer of choice for its grand opening.

The Costco store, which will be the largest on the Island, is set to open to the public June 2.

Pre-opening, invited guests will have an opportunity to sample various products from different themed food stations.

As examples, Jeff Lucas, Old House Restaurant owner states, “There are the Airpark Picnic Basket and Goose Spit Harbour Front stations that will add a Valley flair to the event.”

The Old House Restaurant and Costco will take invited guests on a journey of different tastes and flavours. Everything that these guests taste will be available on the shelves of the new Costco.

“Jeff and his staff at the Old House Restaurant went out of their way to present Costco with an outstanding proposal. We have enjoyed working with Jeff and chef Chance Wilke, who have put together a great menu with a wide variety of Costco-branded foods,” say Costco officials.

The Old House Restaurant, under new ownership since last fall, has been busy this winter. In the past few weeks they introduced a new all-day menu, a new wine menu, and opened a revitalized patio.
