Do you own a business that has been affected by the many boil water advisories implemented in the Comox Valley Regional District in the past few years? Or, have this year’s wildfires impacted your business?

If so, the Comox Valley Economic Development and Tourism (CVEDS) wants to hear from you.

The Comox Valley water committee requested CVEDS provide the regional district with the financial implications of the boil water notices on the Comox Valley, recognizing these notices have had an impact on businesses and residents of the Comox Valley, and also potentially on the regions reputation as a place to visit and invest in future.

Additionally, the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) is currently seeking to collect information from stakeholders and communities regarding the economic impacts the current wildfire situation has had on tourism businesses throughout the region, and has requested other tourism regions to survey businesses in order to provide the provincial government with a comprehensive overview of the effects on businesses, both in directly affected and unaffected areas.

As such, CVEDS combined the two issues and released to the business community earlier this week that provides a mechanism to capture and evaluate the range of impacts.

The survey will remain open until Friday Sept. 22 to allow enough time for a range of businesses to respond, with analysis of the findings to occur in the fall. Businesses interested in completing the survey can visit InvestComoxValley.com
